Energy Saving Air-Conditioners
|
An invertor type low energy air conditioner was installed in December 2006. A more advanced unit with additional energy saving features has been ordered and is expected in December 2007. The more efficient unit will be installed in all guest rooms in May/June 2008. Estimated cost is Rs. 7 million.
The comfort level will be improved by reducing the noise level to 26dB (half the present level) and substantially minimizing temperature variation. Electrical energy consumption will be reduced by over 30%. The bulk of electrical energy in Sri Lanka is produced from fossil fuels and the new air conditioners will therefore help to reduce atmospheric pollution and the green house effect. |

First Ever Chemical-Free Swimming Pool in Sri Lanka
|
A chemical-free water treatment system was installed in the Grand Deluxe Suite Swimming Pool, in October 2007. This unit ionizes the water eliminating chlorine and keeping it free from bacteria. For added safety, ionized water is UV treated. Chlorine free water prevents skin and eye irritation, stickiness, unpleasant chlorine odor and above all, you feel refreshed after a swim. Guests who have been occupying this suite have commented positively and agreed to the above.
The system will have to pass our stringent bacteriological standards before it can be installed in the balance 9 private pools. |
